Jeanie Marie Buss is an American businesswoman. she is the current president and owner-controller of the Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association. A California native, Buss has been raised by an affluent family. Jerry Buss, her father was a businessman in real estate who became owner of Lakers Sports and Entertainment. In 1972, her parents broke up together and she felt lost. When she was 19 years old, she became the General Manager of Los Angeles Strings, a professional tennis club. Then she created her own Los Angeles Blades pro roller hockey team. She was president of the Great Western Forum, before being elected Vice president for the Lakers. Buss and her five sisters inherited the Lakers majority ownership following the passing of Buss' father in 2013. Every sister was given the same voice. Buss was elected president of the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss is also a co-owner in Women of Wrestling a pro-wrestling organization based at Los Angeles.
