Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer who is known for his distinct mix of soul gospel jazz R&B and R&B. She's performed on Broadway, at the Democratic National Convention and in the European clubs and festivals. Her real name is Denise White. She hails from Chester Pennsylvania, where she began her career in music by playing piano and singing at church. After attending Spellman College, Atlanta she embarked on her journey of music in Atlanta's R&B music scene. In 2005 she was hired to be the main keyboardist for Tyler Perry's stage play Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award winner) approached her for the position of choir conductor for Dreamgirls in Atlanta in the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine gained national recognition for her daily shows during 2008's Democratic National Convention. She was invited to perform at President Barack Obama's 2009 inauguration.
